The Lineage Collection was the brain storm of super talented winemaker/ CEO of the company Steven Kent Mirrassou. Steven wanted to showcase the incredible growing region of Livermore Valley. This wine inaugural vintage was 2007 and has not scored under 90 points through what is now 13 vintages. I was fortunate to taste the 2017 when I read a few reviews from some real credible wine bloggers. Right from the first swell of this wine I knew it would be a special taste experience. One which raises the hair on your arms because the smells are filled with potpourri, rose petal, tobacco leaf, lavender with the fruit just standing by ready to hit the palate. First sip proved my thoughts on the aromas, The fruit takes main stage on the tip of the tongue then falls to the side and the floral, black olive , cinnamon stick and cherry liqueur wind up this wine like a clock spring ready to unravel, As you swirl and smell this wine comes together like one of your favorite songs where all the instruments are working so perfectly you are amazed how good it sounds. The wine reminds me of a Chateau Margaux in a great year. It is one of the best wines I have ever tasted. I recommend decanting a few hours. This will age for decades. Retail $175
